A touching video of a crippled man climbing out of his wheelchair to save a vulnerable cat has gone viral on social media.

Abu Fathiyyaturahma Menk Abdun Mujtahid was having a typical Saturday afternoon.

The 36-year-old Sabah guy was on his way to the Kinabalu Sports Complex, where he trains, when he noticed a little critter stranded in a gutter.

Initially, he has no idea what it is, but after a second look, he is certain it is a kitten battling for its life.

That’s when Abu realized he needed to act.

Despite not being able to use his legs, the brave man crawled out of his wheelchair and headed straight towards the sewer, where he extracted the sad little creature.

According to the news, Abu’s companion, who is also crippled, videotaped the entire event.

“When we spotted the cat stranded there, we realized we couldn’t abandon it.”

“I chose to acquire the kitten myself since it would be more perilous for my friend who has prosthetic legs,” Abu said to local media.

“The drain’s sides were steep in places, and the ground was uneven, making it difficult to navigate.” “But I’m delighted we were able to assist the cat.”

Abu expressed his pride and joy at being able to assist the cat. Finally, he laughed about it, adding, “I hope the kitty has learned a lesson and stays away from danger.”
