This kind and very ‘Obese’ owl rescued after being too fat and couldn’t even fly home

While it is becoming increasingly difficult for many of us to maintain a healthy lifestyle in this day and age, we cannot say the same for animals.

Can we, or cannot we? So, reportedly, a “soggy”bird was saved when it was discovered that she was too fat to fly.

The owl was discovered in a ditch by a farmer in England.

The guy transported the bird to the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, assuming it was wounded.

Staff at the refuge discovered the ‘small one’ was really a touch too hefty after additional scrutiny.

“Usually in these cases, we think an injury of some kind is keeping the owl from flying.”

Occasionally being wet causes them to become grounded as well,” the organization posted on Facebook.

In typical conditions, these owls weigh roughly 3 ounces, but the one recovered weighed nearly 9 ounces.

According to the rescue squad, “she was unable to fly adequately owing to the fatty deposits surrounding her body.”

According to Rufus Samkin, chief wildlife photographer at the Suffolk Owl Conservancy.

The area where the bird was rescued was swarming with mice, which explains why the bird began to gain weight!
