Females are sap-green on top, cream with faint dark streaks on the bottom, and have blackish wings.

The Indian golden oriole may be found in a variety of habitats, such as open deciduous woods, semi-evergreen rainforests, woodland, forest border, mangroves, open terrain with forest vegetation, parks, gardens, orchards, and plantations.

These birds mostly eat on fruit and insects in the trunk of the tree, selecting objects off the foliage.

Occasionally captures beetles in flight and eats on the ground amid plants.

Eggs are deposited from early May to mid – June or early July, with the south laying them sooner than the north.

The nest is made in the fork of a slender branch high in a tree, near the crown’s edge, or, less frequently, between parallel branches.
