These mysterious-looking, slightly terrifying birds, sometimes known as Pesquet’s parrots, are difficult to forget once you encounter one!

With their dark black feathers contrasted against scarlet plumage, they’d appear well at home in any Transalvanian castle.

The fact is that these parrots are not as ferocious or as frightening as they appear.

If you want to see the Pesquet’s parrot, you must travel to New Guinea because they are only found there.

They are so interesting to investigate and are so lovable to get the information about them.

They are huge birds that weigh roughly 26 oz and measure 20 inches in length.

Male parrots may be identified from females by the red patches seen behind their ears, and they are most likely to be seen in New Guinea’s mountains.

They move by leaping, making them vulnerable to predators, and unfortunately, the Pesquet’s parrot population is declining owing to poaching and loss of territory.
