The incredible friendship between a diver and the giant fish he nursed back to health

Hiroyuki Arakawa as well as Yoriko met several decades previously because they shared a passion for the water.

Arakawa, the 79-year-old swimmer, has indeed been tasked with the supervision of a ‘torii’ — a Shinto holy sanctuary.

Now this, however, is considerably more significant because it is compared to the passive Tateyama Bay in Tokyo.

A holy spot again for Japanese people, Arakawa knew conscious of the importance of his assignment, thus he would just have to dive virtually regularly to inspect the site.

However, the diver had no idea that he would find a terrific buddy below deep in the water. Arakawa was swimming one day when he noticed an Asian sleepyhead freshwater fish trying to swim.

The guy saw right away that something was wrong with the enormous fish, so he offered to support her in the hopes that she would recover.

The caring and compassionate diver took crustaceans to the ailing fish since over 2 weeks, allowing Yoriko – as he christened her – to recover fully.

The fish have not yet forgotten how Arakawa kept her alive, and they’ve repaid him with one of the most wonderful relationship a person and an aquatic creature may probably enjoy.

There are still great friends, more than three decades after they were first met.

Despite Arakawa and Yoriko’s relationship appears to be unattainable, there may be an answer, as it turns out. These fish, it appears, can distinguish human faces.
