Rare white and cute lion cub graces the world with a glimpse at Kruger Wildlife Reserve

An exceptionally uncommon white lion cub was recently discovered by a wildlife photographer.

Lyle McCabe, 30, was visiting South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park when he came across the rare cub.

The white baby lion was romping around with its mother and siblings.

Despite his initial suspicions that the uncommon cub had albinism, McCabe discovered that the youngster had another rare genetic disorder termed leucism.

Unlike albinism, leucism causes a partial loss of pigmentation, therefore an animal suffering from it does not have its eyes impacted even if its coat is completely white.

In any case, there’s always something interesting to see!

When McCabe returned, though, he couldn’t believe what he saw, and neither could his family nor friends.

“When I got to the location, I noticed movement in the bush, and out came the mother carrying a tawny kid in her arms, closely followed by the pale youngster,” the photographer added.

“The sight has taken my relatives and friends by surprise.”

Even though the cub’s family appears to tolerate him for the time being, the cub’s unique condition may provide significant issues in the future.

Individuals with leucism, like those with albinism, melanism, or other hereditary abnormalities, were very vulnerable to predators.
