The dog was seen coated in falling snow and forced to stand in several feet of it in subzero temps.

The Sheriff’s Office quickly contacted the owner, who stated that the dog has access to shelter and food but prefers to remain outside.

Deputies are unable to personally check on the dog since the home is located in a remote part of the highlands and cannot be accessible.

Despite the fact that they were unable to check on him throughout the snow, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office believes the dog is not being harmed.

The Sheriff’s Office’s response infuriated hundreds of individuals.

“My dog is a fantastic mountain dog that loves snow, but he cannot tolerate these temperatures without cover!”

One user tweeted about it.

“That dog’s feet are most likely frozen, and he will not have access to water unless his terrible owners take him some every several minutes owing to the frigid temperatures!”

“It’s sad.” “I don’t care how much a dog ‘likes snow,’ this is terrible, and there isn’t enough shelter,” said another.

“Absolutely revolting. It legitimately hurts my heart.”
