Onlookers panicked when the tiny wiener dog got too close to a massive 500lb lion

When Milo the Dachshund and his littermates first encountered Bonedigger the lion, they were little puppies.

Because Bonedigger was just a 4-week-old cub, his doggy siblings mistook him for an overgrown puppy and began playing with him, according to the magazine.

The pups soon recognized that Bonedigger had been severely crippled (due to a metabolic bone disease).

They were sympathetic to his situation and always made him feel comfortable.

Milo, on the other hand, went out of his way to defend his lion pal.

Milo and Bonedigger became the best of friends throughout the years.

They shared a home at the Garold Wayne Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, where they were cared after by dedicated staff.

Many bystanders were concerned about Milo and his siblings’ safety over time.

They predicted that Bonedigger’s predatory tendencies would surface sooner or later, and he would attempt to injure the small dogs.

However, Bonedigger exceeded all expectations and shown that he will always be a pleasant presence in the Dachshund family.

Nowadays, the mixed family is frequently seen dining, hugging, or playing together.

Bonedigger is content to let his canine pals lay on top of him anytime they want.

Milo, on the other hand, enjoys acting as the lion’s personal dentist, giving him “kisses” while pretending to inspect his teeth!

According to the sanctuary staff, Bonedigger becomes quite agitated if any of his Dachshunds go missing from his yard.

Bonedigger, now that he is bigger and stronger, adores and defends the young canine family from harm.

This unusual bond demonstrates that the animal kingdom is full of the purest of spirits!
