Surprisingly, no one saw the small child until the quick-thinking dog did!

Terry Walsh, a 64-year-old retired engineer, went for a stroll with his dog, Hel, to one of their favorite Birmingham spots, Kings Norton Park.

But while they were strolling along, the Husky saw something and began acting strangely.

There was a two-hour-old infant wrapped under a blanket, it turned out.

Fortunately, the dog’s perseverance saved the child’s life.

“There was a rolled-up blanket right beneath the shrubs as we walked up to the top of The Mounds”.

“Looking down towards Shannon Road”, the dog’s owner told Birmingham Live.

“She moved off to the blanket, laying next to it, and softly nudged it with her nose.”

Walsh was taken aback when he heard a noise from the blanket that sounded just like a baby sobbing.

As a result, he hastened to investigate. “All of a sudden, I heard this baby cry,” he explained.

“I believe Hel’s gentle poking and the heat from my Husky’s body roused the baby.”

Walsh, relieved that the baby was still alive, summoned the police, who arrived quickly and brought the tiny soul to the hospital.

Though the baby was in fine condition, his mother was nowhere to be located, according to the authorities.

The infant was called “George” since he was discovered just a few days before St. George’s Day.

West Midlands Police posted on Facebook, “Baby George is healthy and doing well.”

“However, we have yet to locate his mother.”

We’re worried about her and want to make sure she’s okay, both physically and psychologically.
