Even while considering a dog a superhero may seem like a cliché, canines are perhaps more like superhuman heroes than fluffy friends.

We introduced you to a dog which heroic deeds may have helped to save a species a few years back.

With terrible forest fires threatening Australia’s native animals, a rare, skilled Border Collie was risking his life to save the hapless koalas.

The gallant dog has now received the respect he earned after being honored by the Investment Program for Wildlife Conservation (IFAW).

Bear, a Border Collie-Koolie hybrid, is one of just a few canines in the globe with the ability to detect wounded animals.

Bear was sent to Northern New South wales in 2019 amid the catastrophic wildfire that burned in Australia.

Meanwhile, the courageous firemen worked with the courageous pooch, who was wearing special socks to shield him from burns, that would save over 100 animals from the devastated regions.

Bear, although being a great hero, has a tragic story to tell. He was dumped by his first owner when he was a youngster, since he had “endless energy and insatiable eagerness for playing.”

Fortunately, he was saved and sent to the College of the Sunshine Coast, where he became a member of the Guide Dogs for Preservation team.
