Pall Sigurdsson is a popular diver who was by observing the magical waters of Lembeh, Indonesia, discovered a very small coconut octopus.

The octopus chose the plastic cup as its perfect home.

Even though a shell is a strong protection, there is a high risk that an eel or a flounder will most probably swallow the cup with the octopus in it, or maybe they will weaken it and soon a bigger fish will eat it.

So the diver knowing about it wanted to help the octopus and not let it suffer. Together with his team he started looking for a shell that will be his new home.

Coconut octopus like it was in the picture below protect themselves by gathering coconut and seashells under the water.

It will be hard to find the exact shell because they can increase their length up to 6 inches.

The famous diver says that after a long observation they could find this specific octopus at about 20 meters under the water, and they gave it shells in hope that it would commerce the shell.

Coconut octopus are famous for being very choosy about the shells they maintain.

The diver together with his Team had to seek various shells in order to offer the right one.
