Jim Kowalczik has only ever loved dogs and has worked tirelessly to aid and preserve them, particularly bears.

As a result, Jim as well as his wife Susan established The Orphaned Wildlife Home – a treatment facility for orphaned bears – near Otisville, New York, with the goal of helping every desperate bear cub around nowadays.

Since 1990, the pair has cared for numerous bears that were in need of assistance.

Jim, on the other hand, has never had such a close attachment with any of the animals that dwell here, even though he has with his 4 favored bears: 2 Kodiak bears as well as 2 Syrian brown bears.

The four came to the institution about a decade ago, and a very powerful and particular link had developed between them because of the man who looks after them.
