Cat shows up on windowsill then tells family he is ready to leave stray life behind

When an orange cat appeared outside a little girl’s home in Brooklyn, New York, he befriended her.

She started feeding the nice stray, and he continued returning.

When the cat returned with an injury late last month, he climbed onto the ledge and cried for aid.

The little girl and her family were able to rescue him and transport him to Little Wanderers, NYC, where he received the necessary medical treatment.

Carlton was as nice and peaceful as a teddy bear, despite his life on the streets.

He is believed to be at least five years old and has tested positive for FIV, yet this does not prevent him from leading a full life.

Carianne, a seasoned foster carer from Staten Island, New York, discovered Carlton’s tale on social media and volunteered to assist.

“All the rescues right now are overloaded with cats and kittens due to kitten season and the overabundance from last year,” Carianne told Love Meow.

When Carlton first arrived at his residential care, he was scared of the unfamiliar surroundings, but his human companions immediately reassured him.

He was gruff around the edges, yet he was a lovely person with a big heart.

He is overjoyed to be attended to, and ecstatic that he would never must worry regarding food and shelter, or survive for himself after the wilderness.
