An ‘obese’ and wonderful owl was rescued after becoming too heavy to make a flight

While it is becoming increasingly difficult for most of us to maintain good health, we could say the same for animals given today’s lifestyle.

Can we, or cannot we? So, reportedly, a “soggy” bird was saved when it was discovered that she was too overweight to flight.

The owl was resting in a ditch once it was discovered by a homeowner in England.

The guy transported the bird towards the Suffolk Owls Conservancy, presuming it was wounded. Following a closer check, shelter personnel discovered that the ‘small one’ was really a touch too fat.

In typical conditions, these birds weigh roughly 3 ounces, but the one recovered weighed nearly 9 ounces.

As just a result, “she was also unable to fly properly owing to the fibrous tissue surrounding her body,” according to the report.

According to Rufus Samkin, chief falconer at the Suffolk Owl Conservancy, the area where the bird was discovered was swarming with mice, which explains why the bird began to gain weight!

“We think she did really well for itself and gorged,” Mr. Samkin told the Media.

“Obviously, she’s learned to maintain her weight under control, so she can escape persecution or being taken up.”
