After a family accidentally captured the enigmatic beast on tape in Banff National Park.

While sightings of white bears are common on the West Coast.

Where around 400 Kermode bears (or ghost bears) reside, a grizzly bear with a white coat is extremely rare.

The bear, dubbed Nakoda, is roughly 3-years-old, and reportedly park authorities have known about its presence since last year.

But they kept it hidden for fear of too many tourists.

The Banff Park officials deliver a clear caution to all inquisitive visitors to keep away from the white bear.

Since their presence might disturb the bear.

“It’s not something we necessarily intended to call attention to,” Parks Canada wildlife specialist Jon Stuart-Smith told the newspaper.

“However, we anticipated that it would attract notice at some time.”

“It’s fantastic to witness such a unique (monster), but we hope people see that it underscores the species’ overall conservation problems.”

Parks Canada also confirmed that the bear’s exceedingly unusual hue is caused by a very atypical recessive gene.

But not albinism, as previously thought.

They further stated that, while white, grizzly bears are exceptionally rare.

Nakoda is not the first to be observed in the Canadian wilderness.

Despite the fact that wildlife authorities have warned visitors not to go too near to the wildlife.

When visiting Banff Park, multiple pictures of bears have lately surfaced.
